I’m Not Just a Scribble

This book is something young students can make connections with. As they begin to explore who they are and what makes them special. Each of us is unique in our own way and we have qualities about us that make us special.
The story is about Scribble. He believes he is just like everyone else until he meets House, Sun, and Clouds and he starts to question what and who he is. Once he is excluded from playing with them, something changes. The story is a lesson on inclusivity, self confidence, forgiveness, and friendship.
I highly recommend this book for the lessons it shares, the artwork that students can relate to, and the opportunity the book presents to create your own scribble using the stickers provided! The book could be used in the classroom or an art class to teach about friendship, self confidence, and including others. It could generate some deeper discussion with the class specifically if they are working through some of these situations.
